It was recently reported that Michigan's Governor Granholm rode a bicycle and took a bus to work. This was touted as a way to save money for the state.
Is she serious? What did she save aside from private money on a PR campaign? 10 bucks in gas?
There are people in Michigan who take the bus daily to work Governor, those who have jobs but still cannot afford a car because they are putting food on the table.
Would the Governor wait for 45 minutes at a bus stop in below freezing weather to go to work like so many Michiganders do daily in winter? I think not.
It was also proposed earlier this year for the state governing bodies work for 4 days a week instead of 5 to save money the state doesn't have. What a crock of shit! How about working 20 days a month without pay to get some business in the state?
Save the bike ride Governor, I'll give you the 5 bucks in gas money to make sure your butt is in the office as long as you do your job and bring some business to the state.
What a tool.
As a side note for those who may not know:
Volkswagen chose Tennessee for their new billion dollar plant location and not Michigan, good job Governor!
Welcome to Detroit
