These could be used for a post apocalyptic movie shoot locations, Michigan is currently giving something like a 45% tax break to movies who shoot on location here.

Nathaniel Abraham's lawyer is asking a judge to remove him from the criminal case.

Abraham, one of Michigan's youngster convicted killers, faces drug possession charges from a May 30 arrest by Pontiac police. His attorney Richard Morgan Jr. filed a motion June 19 seeking to withdraw as counsel in the case citing a "breakdown in the attorney-client relationship."

Abraham, who gained international attention when at age 11 he shot and killed a man in Pontiac, wears a global positioning system tether 24 hours a day and is restricted to his mother's home in Pontiac while he awaits a court hearing on the drug charges.

Police say Abraham had 254 ecstasy pills in his possession when he was arrested at a gas station May 30. He was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

Probe of alleged mayor assault proceeds

A State Police investigation into an alleged confrontation involving Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is moving forward, a mayoral representative confirmed Monday.

Marcus Reese, a spokesman for the mayor's legal team, said Kilpatrick has not given a statement, but lawyers are working with investigators.

State Police are investigating the July 24 incident in which Kilpatrick allegedly shoved Wayne County Detective Brian White and made racist remarks while White was trying to serve a subpoena. If the probe uncovers any criminal wrongdoing, Attorney General Mike Cox said his office would handle the prosecution.

If you look up this allegation, you can see some of the most racist remarks I ever heard coming from a man whom plays/played the race card at every opportunity...and I mean EVERY opportunity.

Kwame doesn't have the COMMON DECENCY AND ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITY to just resign and let Detroit and Michigan try to dig out of the muck and mire he has now added to our once fine state.

Shooter may face death penalty

U.P. man held in fatal rampage that left 3 teens dead; authorities weigh using federal law in case.

The Upper Peninsula man being held by police in connection with the ambush-style shooting rampage that left three teens dead near the Menominee River along the northern Michigan and Wisconsin border last Thursday could face the death penalty if convicted in the case, a federal official said Monday.

Scott Johnson, a 38-year-old divorced father from Kingsford, Mich., is in police custody in Wisconsin. He is accused of killing Tiffany Pohlson, 17; Anthony Spigarelli, 18; and Bryan Mort, 19, as he emerged from the woods near the river and opened fire on about six young people. A fourth shooting victim, 20-year-old Daniel Louis Gordon, was treated and released from a local hospital.

Charles Gross, the U.S. Attorney for the Western District in Grand Rapids, said authorities are still trying to determine whether Johnson could be prosecuted under federal law.

Johnson also could face sexual assault charges in Dickinson County, Michigan. A 24-year-old woman told police that Johnson sexually assaulted her Wednesday at the site where the shooting happened Thursday.

This guy is getting the death penalty from another state, Michigan doesn't have the death penalty...well not a state sanctioned death penalty.

I guess his wife left him some years back (go figure) with the kids and he never did get over it.

I guess she had a MaGiCaL PuSsY and he had to take his loss out on innocent people...what a tool...he served in the military but lacked the courage to take his own life but still managed to muster the "courage" to kill innocent teenagers to express his inner pain...loser...it's cases like this that justify the death penalty.

Oil Falls to $118 as Storm Danger Abates, Demand Concern Grows

Crude oil fell to $118 a barrel on signs Tropical Storm Edouard will leave U.S. oil rigs and refineries undamaged and as commodities prices tumble because of the slowing global economy.

U.S. gasoline stockpiles are 3 percent above their five-year seasonal norm at 213.6 million barrels, according to the Energy Department. The department will probably say gasoline supplies fell 1.75 million barrels last week in its weekly report tomorrow, a Bloomberg survey predicted.

I personally think this has more to do with consumers NOT buying gas across the U.S. than the recent tropical storm.

It shows that we as the world's largest consumer nation have the power to control price by boycott, either voluntarily or by necessity.

How many of us have altered our driving and buying habits because of economic slow down and inflation in prices on most goods?

It was bound to have an impact, a worldwide rebound effect of sending prices down.

Because although we are used to gluttonously high levels of consumerism in this country, supply nations have gotten used to gluttonously high export expectations.

If we ain't buying...they ain't selling...and they panic...and they lower prices....
