State police to probe alleged assault by Detroit mayor

The Michigan State Police are investigating a possible assault by Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick on a deputy accompanying a process server Thursday at the home of the mayor's sister, Sheriff Warren Evans said.

Evans said the mayor allegedly pushed a sheriff's deputy and knocked him into a process server who was working for Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy. The subpoena was for Bobby Ferguson, a city contractor and close friend of Kilpatrick.

This isn't the first time he has done something like this, Kwame has pushed many a reporter, caught on video several times doing just that.

Only this time he didn't know it wasn't just another citizen, it was a plain clothed cop.

At first glance you would think I would be enraged by this policy tactic, admittedly I am unsure about it but I do know one thing.

Michigan state workers sit on their collective asses all day and laugh at those of us in the private sector.

Don't deny it, I have seen it, I have heard it, I have been impacted by it.

Yes I have waited in line and took a number.

What the #$%&! kind of business uses the "take a number" method anyway?

Only 3, the baker, the butcher (if you can find one) and the Michigan Secretary of State.

That's how archaic and non-accountable for service level the Secretary of State is, they use paper numbers here in Michigan folks.

Who else among us has waited in line at the Secretary of State (Michigan's version of what many states call the DMV.) and wished, nay prayed the day would come when those behind the counter got paid by straight commissions rather than by the hour?

How fast would lines move if every worker got a buck for every automobile license plate they issued? It would be like a McDonald's drive thru....EVEN FASTER.

I think it may be actually be a good idea to make department heads accountable to ensure those subordinate to them are fiscally solvent. After all isn't that how it goes in the real world?

Here in Michigan getting a job with the state is like getting a golden ticket from Willie Wonka's lottery, you won't have to take your job seriously ever again because you would have to walk in to work nude, drunk, holding a gun in one hand and your dick in the other to get fired from a state job.

Yes Arnold is a republican, but I won't hold that against him.

This decision shows some balls, he does not actually think its going to happen I don't think, he is just doing it to drive the California legislative body to come to a fiscal decision to make the state of California fiscally solvent.

I bet it works, everyone who works for the state out in Cali is probably going totally nuts.

That means shit will happen and soon.

Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick Wants to Keep Spank Bank Texts Secret.

DETROIT -- Lawyers for Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and former chief of staff Christine Beatty have demanded to know what new information Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy will reveal before the end of the month.

Lawyers for Kilpatrick on Wednesday filed court papers asking 36th District Judge Ronald Giles for an emergency hearing Friday -- the same day the judge has said he will decide on the release of many, if not most, of the 625,000 text messages offered as evidence in criminal proceedings against Kilpatrick and Beatty.

Ford Has $8.7 Billion Loss, Shifts Away From Trucks (Update4)
July 24 (Bloomberg) -- Ford Motor Co., the world's third- biggest automaker, posted a record quarterly loss of $8.7 billion and accelerated a conversion to fuel-efficient vehicles to wean itself from money-losing trucks.

The revamping is a response to record gasoline prices that have ravaged sales of large pickups and sport-utility vehicles and derailed Chief Executive Officer Alan Mulally's turnaround plan.

Alan Mulally went on to say "DUH DUH DUH, DUH DUH DUH DUH" then proceeded to take his finger out of his nose and taste it.

Just kidding but I figure if Al can make that amount of money for being a total fuck up, he can take some ribbing from me, one of the great unwashed masses.

Alan made 28 million for 4 months of work, and I mean back breaking, sweaty, ditch digging work too, in the sun all day, wearing a do-rag work, just like a farmer. What did you make and how hard do you work for it? Bet its not as hard as the work as Al does for his paltry pay.

Struggling Ford Motor Co., which posted a record $12.7 billion net loss in 2006, gave its new CEO Alan Mulally $28 million for four months on the job, according to the company's proxy statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission Thursday.

The Ford (Charts) pay package for Mulally comes on top of the $7.4 million that aerospace company Boeing (Charts) had previously reported paying him for his eight months running that company's commercial aircraft unit before he made the move to Ford at the beginning of September.

Alan Mullaly is hereby nominated for Detroit Daily Dirt's Tool Of The Year Award.

In 2005, Michigan's state population was 10,120,860, so if Al made 28 million every 4 months let's say just for fun, thats 124 million per year OR, drum roll please..... $12.25 for every man, woman and child in Michigan. Probably more per person since so many people have left Michigan since 2005

Personally I think the money would have been better spent and put back into the economy had everyone in the state got their 12 bucks.

Woman Facing Foreclosure Commits Suicide

And so it begins...


BOSTON -- A Taunton woman committed suicide Tuesday hours before her mortgage company was scheduled to auction off her home.

Carlene Balderrama, 53, sent a fax to her mortgage company threatening suicide earlier in the day. The company was planning to sell her foreclosed home at 5 p.m.

Police found Balderrama dead in her home at 103 Duffy Drive after employees at the mortgage company who received the fax called police.

Officials said that in a suicide note found next to her body, Balderrama told her husband and son to "take the insurance money and pay for the house."
