'My little hero:' Man who shot girl trying to save mother sentenced today

The artificial eye 7-year-old Alexis Goggins wears in the space where her real eye was destroyed by a bullet is so realistic that people might not notice.

But her mother, Seliethia Parker, 32, can never forget how her life was saved by the little girl who threw herself into the path of a gunman's rage on Dec. 2 and absorbed seven bullets at point blank range.

Calvin Tillie, 29, was to be sentenced this morning to 25-60 years. He pleaded guilty on Aug. 28 before Wayne County Circuit Judge David J. Allen to two counts of assault with intent to murder and one count of hostage taking. He would be required to serve his minimum sentence before his first chance at parole under state law.

The plea bargain agreement with the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office avoids a trial later this month. The sentence is longer than a standard life sentence that allows parole after 15 to 20 years, said Tillie's lawyer, William Winters.

"They (the prosecutor) took a hard line with him, but Mr. Tillie accepted the plea and accepted responsibility," Winters said about the man with a lengthy criminal record who had dated Parker and didn't want the relationship to end. "I know that he is remorseful. He is very upset about what happened in the car. He certainly never intended to harm an innocent child."

Well Calvin your quite the human turd aren't you?

Lets see, you loaded a gun, cleaned it, kept it with you like a real tough guy, you were packing a gun when you went out for God knows what reason with it, shot the kid in the face and her mother...never intended to hurt a innocent child?

Pulleeze....

I am all for gun rights, this guy gives those of us who are law abiding, honest, safe and responsible with our fire arms a terribly bad name.

Good luck in prison Calvin, they just love to give special treatment to those criminals who have hurt or abused children.
